Eleonet for intermediaries
Within the eLearning market, learning organisations are increasingly asking for modular Learning Objects, designed to be re-used in multiple contexts.
Customisation is pursued through the aggregation of a particular bundle of LOs and the provision of services besides the mere didactic material.
This implies the need to negotiate rights on LOs, which can be done directly with producers (publishers and other rights holders), or more frequently through collective rights organisations such as clearing houses, RROs (Reproduction Rights Organisations) and content aggregators usually providing DRM services.
These kind of intermediaries will widely exploit the existence of a standard identifier as DOI facilitating the identification of Learning Objects and the related rights management.
